James Eldridge

Managing Partner

James is one of the Cayman Islands’ leading litigation and insolvency lawyers with more than 25 years’ experience in financial services disputes.

Prior to founding the firm with Justin in 2026, James spent two decades in the Cayman Islands with the world’s largest offshore law firm, including as Global Co-Head of its Dispute Resolution & Insolvency practice until 2025. In that role, he led multi-jurisdictional teams on some of the most significant and complex matters in the offshore market.

James’ practice spans a wide range of Cayman Islands financial services litigation, with particular expertise in investment fund and private equity disputes, shareholder and public company litigation, as well as insolvency matters, security enforcement, and fraud and asset recovery.

In addition to his contentious practice, James has substantial experience in pre-litigation crisis management and in non-contentious insolvency matters. He regularly serves as a trusted advisor to liquidators and other insolvency practitioners, as well as to funds, fund managers, fund administrators, directors, shareholders and public companies. He is frequently engaged to provide strategic advice in situations involving sensitive or time‑critical issues.

James has also played a key role in a number of high-profile financial restructurings, both in contentious and non-contentious settings.

He has appeared extensively before the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands as well as before the Cayman Islands Court of Appeal. He has also acted as an expert witness on Cayman Islands law in proceeding before the United Stated Federal Courts, including the Southern District of New York, as well as in other international courts and arbitral proceedings.

Justin Naidu

Partner

Justin is a Cayman Islands litigator with strong experience in cross‑border financial services disputes.

Before establishing Eldridge Legal LLP with James in 2026, Justin worked in the Dispute Resolution & Insolvency team at the world’s largest offshore law firm.

Justin acts in a broad range of financial services disputes, including investment fund, private equity, shareholder, fraud‑related, and asset recovery matters. He regularly works with liquidators, creditors, funds, directors, administrators and financial institutions.

He also advises on non‑contentious aspects of insolvency law, restructurings, voluntary liquidations, and fund wind‑downs, frequently involving complex international considerations.

Justin has appeared before the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands and frequently assists overseas counsel on Cayman Islands aspects of litigation and insolvency matters in other leading financial centres.

Luke Armitage

Luke is a litigation and insolvency attorney with a strong track record in complex and high-value disputes in the Cayman Islands.     

Before joining Eldridge Legal LLP in 2026, Luke worked in the Dispute Resolution & Insolvency team at the world’s largest offshore law firm for over seven years. Luke has acted on some of the most high profile and complex litigation and insolvency matters in the Cayman Islands, including the world's largest offshore debt restructuring, significant multi-jurisdictional fraud and asset recovery claims, and security enforcements.

Luke has particular expertise in insolvency and general commercial litigation, bringing a pragmatic and commercially focused approach to each engagement. He regularly advises liquidators, creditors, debtors, shareholders, directors, investment funds, holding companies and financial institutions in both contentious and non-contentious scenarios. Luke is adept at navigating the complexities of Cayman Islands law while delivering clear, strategic advice aligned with clients' objectives.
